The Electras are a Buffalo, New York based band with a "Hot Chicago Blues" / "jump blues" style, featuring veteran bluesmen
who have been part of the Western New York blues scene for over.... well, let's just say before disco. Today, the band remains true to their soulful blues roots, playing with a passion that makes
the blues "real".

The band features Phil "the blues" Smith on lead guitar & vocals (remember Phil from Shakin' Smith Blues Band, or Buffalo Kingsnake Band?). Don "Muddy Rutters" on rhythm guitar & vocals. Rob Scheuer on drums & vocals (also played in Shakin' Smith Blues Band, Buffalo Kingsnake Band, Stevie B & the Rhythm Rockers, & The Excellos to name a few). Formerly, Doug "Shakey Leg" Thornton spent over 12 years with The Electras. Now, we rotate other players, such as the incomparable Jeremy Keyes on harmonica & vocals, or Tony Grisanti on sax & vocals. The band features Joe Skinner on bass who plays that "real deal" style and has played with many great local blues and rockabilly bands.
The Electras also often feature special guests on Thursdays in the summer at the River Grill, such as Dan Sturner, Jim Ehinger, Jeremy Keyes, Paul Bruschini, Dan Gambino, Dr Z, Mr Conrad, Mark Winsick, Sonny Mayo, Greg Zark, Jony James, Tony Grisanti and more.
